Fried Green Tomatoes

Evelyn is a middle-aged housewife dissatisfied with her life. On one of her weekly nursing home visits, she meets an elderly lady, Ninny Threadgoode, a colorful and charismatic lady who brightens Evelyn's outlook by sharing a tale from her past; the story of two young women in the 1930’s on a journey through life and love. As Ninny recounts the exploits of her free-spirited sister-in-law Idgie, owner of a small Alabama café in the 1920s, and the bond Idgie shared with her friend Ruth, Evelyn gains the confidence to change her own life (and luck) for the better. A warm, touching and, at times, greatly amusing tale about the importance of friendship. With Kathy Bates, Jessica Tandy, Mary Stuart Masterson, Mary-Louise Parker, Cicely Tyson, Chris O'Donnell.
