Get ready to bring back that loving feeling (or maybe take your breath away) at the Park Theatre with a Fourth of July double bill screening of one of the most enduring movie franchises ever, TOP GUN. The pop-culture impact of Tony Scott's 1986 blockbuster may be best measured by the enormous success of its 2022 sequel, TOP GUN: MAVERICK. Our double bill screening of these two action classics will be made even cooler as we welcome MAVERICK's Oscar-nominated screenwriter, Justin Marks, to the venue for an in-person talk back session.
TOP GUN cemented Tom Cruise's status as a bona-fide Hollywood heavyweight thanks to his incredibly charismatic turn as the daring, aviator sunglasses-wearing and motorbike-riding US Navy fighter pilot trainee who goes by the nickname Maverick. He's a competitive guy who is vying to be the best of the best in his class - with a little help (and that lovin' feeling) along the way from his instructor (Kelly McGillis). Beyond the romantic drama overtones, TOP GUN is a genuine action-filled classic that features some of the most thrilling airplane dogfight sequences ever put to film - best enjoyed on the big screen!
