Decades after its release in 1986, Rob Reiner's STAND BY ME remains one of the most beloved film adaptations ever - and an enduring, nostalgic "end of summer" movie staple. After learning that a stranger has been accidentally killed near their rural homes, four Oregon boys decide to go see the body. While just a lark at first, the boys' adventure is colored by the personal pressures brought to bear on all of them by the adult world, and eventually evolves into a defining event in their lives.
