Father Mother Sister Brother

Structured as a narrative triptych, Jim Jarmusch's latest FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER is a comedy-drama rooted in observational austerity, quietly exploring stories of estranged adult children attempting to connect with their emotionally distant parents across different locations (US, Dublin, Paris). The trio of stories reveal the melancholy, humor, and complexities within family bonds through understated dialogue and shared moments. The film includes a stellar ensemble, and has Jarmusch re-teaming with TOM WAITS (DOWN BY LAW, NIGHT ON EARTH) and Adam Driver (PATERSON, THE DEAD DON'T DIE) in this character study of generational gaps, inherited burdens, and the search for understanding. With Mayim Bialik, Charlotte Rampling, Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps.

Winner of the Golden Lion, Venice Film Festival 2025

"Wry, emotional and off-kilter, Father Mother Sister Brother is the antithesis of a Hallmark Christmas movie, and so much the better for it." (AARP Movies for Grownups)

"If you're tracking the happiness of generations, it feels like Jarmusch definitely feels like everybody's happiness has gone a lot downhill since their parents who are doing glamorous, interesting things." (FilmWeek)

"It’s a wondrous interlude, and Jarmusch at his best." (New York Times)

"Family can be hell, but the only thing worse is when they’re no longer with us." (Los Angeles Times)
